Vegas – GRAMMY® stars can sprint to eco-friendly, animal-friendly style, thanks to PETA: Ahead of “Music’s Biggest Night”®“, presenters and performers, including the reigning PETA Personality of the Year Billie Eilish, will receive vibrant vegan running shoes from PETA Business Friend Newton Running. PETA representatives will be on hand at the official GRAMMY® Gift Lounge to distribute the gifts before the ceremony.
“By rocking vegan fashion and encouraging their fans to do the same, GRAMMY® stars can be nice to sweet cows and reduce their carbon footprint,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “PETA’s gift will inspire music’s biggest stars to top the animal compassion charts while staying fashionable.”
The leather industry is one of the main contributors to deforestation, pollution and climate catastrophe. In the United States, many of the millions of cows and other animals who are killed for their skins suffer the horrors of factory farming – extreme overcrowding and deprivation as well as castration, branding and tail docking – all without any painkillers. In slaughterhouses, animals are sometimes skinned while they are still conscious.
PETA — whose motto says, in part, “Animals are not ours to bear” — opposes speciesism, a supremacist worldview of man. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, FacebookWhere instagram.
