Prince, a renowned makeup artist with a formidable social media presence, says her drag is inspired by sci-fi. Sadly, that didn’t translate to the first episode’s talent show. His slapstick act and blue runway look failed to impress the judges, and Prince walked away.

What is your biggest achievement of the season? What did you learn about yourself?

Never minimize anything and be prepared for everything. Of all the looks I had to prepare, it was Darna’s that I played easy and just said to myself “I’ll do it when I get there”. Turns out that was the first mini-challenge, and I looked like shit! With my very short stint at the show with all these talented drag performers, it made me realize that I’m something. Just being a part of the amazing cast is so important and has proven to me that I’m worth it.

Where does Prince’s inspiration come from? Who inspires your art?

My drag character is heavily inspired by sci-fi characters. I like the idea of ​​looking like a high form of unearthly beauty. Growing up I loved femme fatales characters and incorporating that with drag is something I love to do.

What has been your biggest personal challenge on the show?

It’s true that I’m soft-spoken but it’s really my personality to be reserved at first because I’m so observant. But once I’m able to pull it off, I can be loud, mean, and just as bitchy as my sisters in Season 1. I’m pretty sure Marina and Eva can attest to that.

Is there anything you would change about your runway outfit?

I would definitely cut the skirt and fix my underwear. But the infamous shoes aren’t the same shoes I was supposed to wear on the show. It so happened that when I was dressing for the show, the suspenders broke and it was impossible to wear them.

And your skills?

Honestly no. I think my talent was interesting and fun. Also, I looked really good in my personalized Mara Chua outfit.

Do you remember when you knew you wanted to do drag and be a performer?

I always wanted to try but I really wanted it to be a special moment. Halloween was about to arrive and I was thinking about what I should do for a party. A popular drag contest with lip-sync battles was held with the theme “Disney on Ice”. I went there as a prince charming in drag because I knew the other girls would come as villains and disney princesses and I was crowned the winner that night. It was quite iconic.

Are you a Beyoncé fan? What is your favorite song to perform? Is there anything you take from her to inspire your own drag?

I love performing his classic hits “Single Ladies” and “Run The World (Girls)”. If there’s anything I take away from her that inspired me, it’s how powerful she is as a performer and the attitude she exudes.

Who’s your favorite drag race queen of all time?

My first loves were Sharon Needles and Raja. But now I really love Trixie Mattel. She’s a businesswoman. I really want to be her. And also Aquaria!

You are part of the first Filipino cast and are now known all over the world. What is the most important thing for us to know about Filipino drag?

A lot of people think that because we are from a third world country, the drag quality is also low. They don’t know that Filipino drag is world class. We have the best and most talented drag queens in the world. In addition, we are very rich in a culture that really makes it a star.

Beyoncé, Selena, hot weather and BBQ.
