Sneaker thieves charged with stealing up to $18,000 worth of shoes from Paddock Mall

OCALA, Florida. – Ocala Police are looking for at least three suspected thieves caught sneaking in and stealing approximately $18,000 worth of merchandise from a sports store in the Paddock Mall.

Investigators say the incident happened on January 27 when the three suspected thieves used ladders to climb onto the roof of the mall and punched a hole in the ceiling above the store to gain entry.

“While inside, the thieves stole several exclusive branded sneakers with a total value of $18,000. Some of the stolen shoes were Air Jordan Retro 5 and 6, Nike Dunk and Adidas Yeezy 700,” the department said.

Investigators described the three individuals, including the two pictured above, as wearing dark-colored clothing, hoodies or jackets, masks and gloves. The individuals each wore different footwear, including brown lace-up leather-type sneakers, multi-colored sneakers, and black sneakers. The person wearing brown shoelaces also had “a towel or rag hanging from their back pocket,” according to police.

Prior to the theft, a small box-style U-Haul truck was seen driving around the mall parking lot before being parked in an unlit area with a man lying in the driver’s seat, officials said. officers.
