IN ADVANCE. OVER $50,000 OF NEW SHOES AND BOOK BAGS FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND EVEN IPADS WERE DISTRIBUTED TODAY ON BARDSTOWN ROAD AT ONE BOUTIQUE SHOP. JUST A NICE SENSATION TO GIVE BACK TO THE CITY WE KNOW HOW TO REPRESENT. IT WAS SHOULDER TO SHOULDER. OUTSIDE THE SHOP STORE TUESDAY MORNING, AS FAMILIES WAIT FOR THE GIFT, 300 PAIRS OF ALL-NEW JORDANS AND 100 PAIRS OF NIKE FOR ELEMENTARY, 100 FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL AND 100 FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE DISTRIBUTED. ALL THANKS TO LOUISVILLE NATIVE AND RAPPER EAST ME HERO. Basically saying he wanted to do something to return the kids and donate. YOU KNOW, GO BACK TO SCHOOL. SO WE WANTED TO ASSOCIATE IT OR WHATEVER IT WANTED TO DO. SO WHY WE ARE HERE TODAY. RYAN MOSS IS UNIQUE. WE WANT TO PUT SMILES ON CHILDREN’S FACES AND HELP PARENTS WHO CAN’T NECESSARILY CAN’T, YOU KNOW, PROVIDE THE WAY THEY NEED, ESPECIALLY IN THESE TOUGH TIMES EVERYONE IS GOING ON NOW. ALISHA FLOYD, WHOSE SON AUSTIN DIED IN 2020, SAYS SHE WOULD BE PROUD OF WHAT HER FRIENDS ARE DOING NOW, RETURNING TO THEIR HOMETOWN. I AM SO PROUD OF THESE YOUNG MEN. THEY MADE SUCH THINGS WITH THEIR LIVES, DISTRIBUTING THE SUPPLIES TOOK A LONG WHICH CAUSED SOME FRUSTRATION AS FAMILIES WAITED FOR OVER TWO HOURS IN THE HEAT. I MOSTLY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE LIKE A BELL. AT LEAST ONE PARISH, ONE OR TWO PAIRS OF SHOES MAXIMUM. BUT WE WERE ABLE TO GET MORE, SO I’M REALLY HAPPY ABOUT IT. DESPITE THE WEIGHT SINCE SMITH AND HIS FAMILY ARE LEFT WITH SMILES ON THEIR FACE AS THEY NOW HAVE NEW SHOES AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, IT’S STILL WORTH THE VALUE. IT WAS THAT YOU WILL DO IT AGAIN IF YOU CAN. YES.
