Sonic Frontiers brings back the iconic Soap-branded shoes from Sonic Adventure 2, and for a limited time, fans can register online to unlock the shoes in-game on PS5 and PS4.
Sonic Frontiers may not be exactly Sonic Adventure 3, but it can at least make PS5 and PS4 gamers think they’re playing an ultra-HD version of Sonic Adventure 2 thanks to the inclusion of “SOAP shoes.” emblematic of this game. Eager fans can unlock the Soap Shoes ahead of the Sonic Frontiers release date by subscribing to the game newsletter.

To unlock SOAP shoes from Sonic Adventure 2 in Sonic Frontiersjust sign up for the Sonic Frontiers newsletter before January 31, 2023. You’ll need to give your email address, age and console preference so Sega knows what code to send you for the shoes – after that just wait until until shortly before the Sonic Frontier release date and you’ll receive an email with a code that will allow you to download the Soap Shoes into the game.
Frankly, with its Big the Cat side quests and Sonic Adventure-like “open area” level design, Sonic Frontiers certainly wants to appease fans of classic Dreamcast-era Sonic games. The Soap Shoes made a recent reappearance in Sonic’s previous mainline adventure, Sonic Forces, but they could only be worn by your terrifying custom character – this time, thankfully, Sonic himself will be donning his own iconic deets from the early ‘s. 2000.
In case you didn’t know, Soap (stylized as “SOAP”) was a short-lived shoe brand from the early 2000s that contained a concave plastic sole, allowing silly kids everywhere to briefly grind on rails in public before horribly and embarrassingly injuring himself trying to impersonate Sonic the Hedgehog.
