Billed as the world’s toughest job interview, Lord Sugar crowned their Round 16 winner last month after weeks of grueling duties. The latest episode of The Apprentice 2022 saw Harpreet Kaur and Kathryn Louise Burn compete to become Sugar’s business partner and win £250,000 investment in their project.
Summoned to the British Museum for their final task, eight previously eliminated contestants helped Harpreet and Kathryn create a new brand, produce a digital billboard, and direct and edit a TV advert. At the end of the challenge, it was dessert parlor owner Harpreet who tasted sweet success with Oh So Yum.
Shortly after news of her win with Sugar’s ‘you’re hired’ line, Harpreet’s aunt, Sarb Sandhu, took to her company’s Instagram to celebrate. Post “Congratulations to my niece @harpsi_kaur winner of @apprenticeuk 2022!!! You broke her.”

Sarb runs The Tiny Bakery, located in 98 Clarendon Park Road, Leicesterwhich is considered to be one of the best bakeries in all of Leicestershire – specializing in exceptional artisan pastries, breads, cakes and artisan pastries.
Speaking exclusively to us about her nieces’ win, Sarb praised Harpreet and it’s no surprise the talented businesswoman won.
When you first heard that Harpreet was going on an apprenticeship, what did you think?
“I was absolutely thrilled! I knew she would do well. She has already established herself as a capable businesswoman and hard worker. I’m not surprised she won, she’s fabulous,” said said Sarb.
Filmed over two months and broadcast for 12 weeks, the winner of The Apprentice has already been decided ahead of the show’s BBC premiere. But with all of the contestants and their families sworn to secrecy, Sarb didn’t reveal anything after being questioned when she found out about her niece’s life-changing triumph.
When did you learn that Harpreet had won and how did you react?
“I don’t think I have the right to say when I found out she won! But I was so happy for her, she deserved it. We had a great party with Harpreet and her family in the evening of the broadcast of the final. We had a wonderful evening celebrating the victory with Harpreet”.
Often successful businessmen show signs of their talent and entrepreneurial spirit as children, but Harpreet was more of a “bookworm”.
When Harpreet was young, did you ever see any signs that she would become an entrepreneur?
Sarb said that growing up “Harpreet was a real good two-shoe when she was little. A total, hard-working bookworm. She always got what she wanted!”
Sarb’s own bakery is a highly recommended business and receives rave reviews on TripAdvisor. The Tiny Bakery is rated five stars and ranks as the second best bakery in Leicester, with one customer commenting “by far the best pastry I have ever tasted”.
